Why is there fire and cleaning at the end of the thousand years?
Our blessed Lord will come at the appointed time. First the cleansing of the vineyard, the burning of the earth 🌎, and the destruction of the wicked by fire will come in a short time.
In the day of the Lord's coming the light of Israel shall be for a fire 🔥.
The day of the Lord shall come like a theif in the night 🌙. In which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.
4. Why does God commit to a thousand-year process to restore, renew, and fully transform the earth to prepare it for eternity?
After the devastation and desecration of the earth, the rebuilding process will take many years. The nations will be trained in the ways of the Lord, and people will be discipled by Jesus Himself. Also, the New Jerusalem will be massive, and the old earth won’t be able to contain it. It needs to be prepared to receive it. He will use 1000 years to prepare it, and also for us to relate to God face-to-face. The nations will be healed and fully restored, and submitted to God. They will no longer have any pride, rebellion, hidden agendas, or wrong attitudes.
The main goal of Jesus’ 1000 year reign will be to prepare the nations for His Father coming to earth to be fully with us again, like in the days of Adam and Eve. He will labor with the saints to prepare His people to be in deep face-to-face intimacy with God for all eternity.
Chapter 12: #5 How will it be possible for there to be survivors after the second coming? Why would God allow these that remain to be active in life on the earth after the second coming of Jesus?
There are three groups of people that the Bible talks about after the second coming. The first group is the saints of the church that are taken up as Jesus comes, the second group are those that were evil and hated Jesus and were taken out, and the third group referred to as “the ones who are left”.
The ones who are left are not saved, did not take the mark of the beast, and are not opposed to God’s ways. The Bible mentions them many times when referencing the end times and more.
I do believe they are the lost remnant. The chosen people of God that still needed to be saved, yet did not object to the leadership of Jesus. God called them the righteous remnant throught time, the 1/3. They were to be on the Earth to be saved and fight with Jesus. They were being refined and turned to gold in the fire. The gentiles that are left will serve and assist the saints and Jesus as they rebuild the city. When the time comes that Jesus will judge the remaining, He will look at how they treated the chosen ones during the Great Tribulation.
8. Why would God release Satan to tempt the peoples of the earth after the thousand years described in Scripture?
During the thousand years between Jesus’ return and the Final Judgment, there will be people living on the earth who will still want to rebel against Jesus—even during His great and glorious rule. On earth, in a time when Jesus is King, there will be little opportunity for those who do not follow Him in their hearts to express this sin. Of course, the number of people who give in to human nature will be less than that of the previous generations who had Satan actively tempting them. Even so, there is always the choice of obedience vs. disobedience, whether it is open sin or rebellion of the heart; the choice is there and Jesus sees the choice that is made.
At the end of the millennium Satan will be released and allowed to tempt the people of the earth. At this, the true nature of the hearts of a shockingly large number of people will be revealed as they give in to this temptation. While people will be capable of sin during the millennium I believe peer pressure will cause many to keep their sin hidden within their hearts. So God will use Satan to reveal the true nature of the sinful people. It will also be one last opportunity for sinners to turn away from their sin before the Final Judgment, although I’m not sure very many of those sinners will take it.
