Why did God establish Israel as the centerpiece of His plans for the nations?
Jesus Christ is the ultimate reason why God chose Israel to be his special people. Israel 🇮🇱 was to be a nation of priests, prophets, and missionaries to the world 🌎. God's intent was for Israel to be a distinct people. A nation who pointed others towards God and His promised provision of a redeemer, messiah, and savior. God's ultimate purpose for Israel 🇮🇱 was fulfilled perfectly in the person of Jesus Christ 🙏 ❤️ 🙌
6. Why does the Bible invite us to pray for the peace of Jerusalem - and what are the implications for our hearts as we take this invitation of Psalm 122:6 seriously?
Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: “May those who love you be secure. (Psalms 122:6). The Bible invites us to pray for peace in Jerusalem so that His will may be done. God has chosen Israel and Jerusalem as the location for His chosen people. He made the covenant with Abraham that was fulfilled in the Old Testament for the nation of Israel. That covenant continued on through the bloodline to Jesus, who fulfilled prophecies of the Old Testament in the New Testament. Jesus is the same yesterday, today, and forever (Heb. 13:8). Meaning, Jesus is still fully God and fully man, a Jewish descendent of David. When Jesus comes back, He will coming back to Jerusalem.
#8 Why do some go SO far in their identification with and concern for Isreal? Why do some emphasize keeping Jewish feasts and customs?
To have a heart for Isreal is the have a heart for God. I do believe the more you read and study God's Word, the answer to this question will be revealed to the heart of every believer in God's perfect timing.
ZECHARIAH CHAPTER 14 shares the account of the coming day of the Lord. And after Jesus establishes His millennial rein, in verses 16-19,it is shared that, all that have survived from every nation who have come against Jerusalem shall go up year after year to worship the King, the Lord of hosts, and to keep the Feast of Booths (Sukkot).
As it continues through the verses, we see those that don't celebrate, God will not rain on them. A plague will be used by the Lord to afflict the nations that do not go to worship Him and celebrate the Feast of Booths.
This reading is a prime example of clear direction the Lord has given to us.
This coming week we will look at Romans 11 : 17 -27, and we learn how we are to be one with Isreal. In reflection I have prayed for 20 years that gentiles would show love, kindness and concern deep in their hearts for the Jewish people in Isreal. Jesus wants us to draw His chosen people back to Him. If we know the Lord's desire and we want to please Him, we should want to know everything about the Jewish way of life. Then we will be able to reach them with God's burning love for His people, and then we will be one in Christ.
4. Why does God continue to remain faithful to Israel—and what does this mean for our own relationship with God?
God remains faithful to Israel because they are His Chosen People. He is always faithful and He always keeps His promises. There are many promises and prophecies involving Israel that remain unfulfilled, so a reasonable conclusion is that He is still actively involved in the nation. He desires for them to turn back to Him and for them to be saved. The Jews have a very special place in His heart and He will never give up on them because He loves them.
Throughout the Old Testament, we can see that the Israelites go back and forth between obedience to God and disobedience. And yet God remained faithful to them. Sometimes bad things happened to them, but God was still with them and still cared for them and He used these situations to bring His People back to Him. Since we have been grafted into His tree, into His family, He cares about us too. Even when we mess up, even when we’re going through a tough time He is still with us and He still wants us and wants us to want Him. The main reason why people avoid meaningful, close relationships is not that they don’t want them but rather that they are afraid of being hurt, of being betrayed, of being forgotten, and ignored. They are afraid that the people that mean the most to them don’t care about them at all. But God is faithful, He cares, He loves, He always keeps His promises, and is always there for us. We can trust in Him.
#3 Why would the preservation of the Jewish race-apart from a national identity-be considered proof of God’s sovereign involvement in the affairs of Israel?
God made a covenant with Abraham, and a promise to him about the promised land, and God is faithful to keep his promises. Plus, he dearly loves his chosen people, Israel.
I believe that God is sovereign over them because the natural man, the sinful nature, is very self-centered and self-protective on its own. For a scattered people to go it alone, without a nation to “belong to”, to continue in the traditions and practices of worshiping God in spite of their trials and separation, proves that God is sovereign in drawing them near to his heart. They had the Scriptures and promises to take with them, but I believe without God’s supernatural guidance, they may have succumbed to the cultural pressures. (Sadly, some have).
Why did God remain faithful to Israel?
Israel gained control over Jerusalem because of a supernatural victory Biblically the end of times scenario is to unfold with Israel and Jerusalem. Israel has always been a reference point in understanding gods purpose history. There were Jews able to return home because of Gods faithfulness and promise made with Israel and Jerusalem . Paul spoke prophetic promise of God regarding the Jews getting
delivered back to where they had been established. The movement was known as Zionism
“ and so all Israel will be saved as it is written the deliver will come out of Zion and he will turn away. I’m godliness from Jake up for this is my covenant with them when I take away their sins.
(Romans 11:26-27)
Israel gained control of the land after a 6 day war. God had emotions for Jerusalem. He cried it out and released it in him heart for the city. He had intercessors pray. Fulfillment of prophecy that was directly related to the end times was unfolding.Israel started growing towards the Jewish people . The lord made Jerusalem get drunkenness because the Arab nations took over . The lord also put a very heavy stone so they would surely be cut.
I knew about end times but I didn’t know details. Just about Antichrist. Reading this makes me want to be more obedient. Be in the word more and share the gospel and Gods love. I also want to be better at getting my sister in law and brother saved. I also got emotional thinking about Family that’s not saved and what road there going down. All I can do is pray for them .
